Random thoughts

A drizzlily day today which is quite welcome after a long dry period. Coolness is appreciated too. Starting to feel a bit like fall… Speaking of fall, yesterday was the start of the new school year. Christen is now a freshman at Parkland High. Seems it was not too long ago she was just starting [...]

Quick notes for Wednesday May 21st

May 21st, 2008 | By Brian Leon | Category: Hockey, Home Life, USA Elections 2008

The primary results went as expected with Hilary Clinton winning Kentucky while Barack Obama won Oregon. She netted more votes overall for the night but in the only metric that mattered, Obama continued his advance on the pledged delegates giving him the majority lead for pledged delegates. It is just a matter of time now [...]

Wednesday Ramblings

I think it is a bit surprising that the Final Four in the NCAA Tournament are all number one seeds. First time ever. I tried to get into this year’s season but somehow this group while talented never really caught on with me as personalities as it with Jeffery and Laura from season three. I think I watch the [...]

This is where it stands

After months of campaigning (and perhaps more to come), and millions of votes casted , this is where the Democratic primary nomination stands: Barack Obama leads in nearly all criteria in terms of votes casted, states won and in the most singular category for determining the nominations, pledged delegates. Hillary Clinton leads only in the [...]

Tuesday ramblings

Despite decidedly outplaying Duke on Sunday, Wake Forest is still not getting any respect from the people who do the rankings for NCAA basketball. While I did not expect the Deacons to get into the top 25, at the very least they should have received some votes. But on the AP and USA Today polls [...]
