Video of the week: Heartstrings Walk to Remember

Note
On October 11th, we went as a family to participate in the Walk to Remember event held at Triad Park. This event serves as a fund raiser for the heartstrings group to support its ability to run counseling sessions for families that lost a child during pregnancy and birth. This video is from photos taken from the event which can also be found on my Flickr site. The video also incorporates photos taken from the event we attend the previous week in Lewisville that also sought to remember our children with highlight being the release of dozens of white balloons.
This video is also notable in that it is my first project using Apple’s iMovie application. I found using this application very easy and much more flexible to use. The built-in integration with YouTube, Aperture and iPhoto eliminates much of the guesswork. Using Lightroom, requires a few more steps. For a photo movie, the default mode is the Ken Burns effect which is a simple pan and scan of a photo to give it a sense of motion. With transitions and a music soundtrack (Kerry Muzzey’s Sacrifice) the video is complete.
